It's hard being the Queen!

I had surgery on Monday...my right ovary was removed. The nurse told my husband for the next ten days I'm suppose to be treated like a queen. No lifting anything heavier than a gallon of milk, be careful vacuuming, sweeping, pushing carts, etc. I'm suppose to lay around the house and relax. I'm trying to take the time I've been given to read some books that I bought at a marriage conference. I've almost finished the first one...only four more to go!

Peaches apparently didn't get the message that I was suppose to be treated like a queen. I open the back door this morning to find four paws entrenched in mud. I start wiping the paws and realize her whole belly and chest is caked in mud. Two options at this point...leave the dog muddy until Scott gets home...and have a house and a dog to clean up or give the dog a bath immediately. I went for option 2. So, I drug Peaches up the stairs, into the bathroom, forced her into the bathtub, and gave her a bath. I was quick about it, but I was rather tired and ended up rather sore from the experience. I didn't have the energy to grab the camera and take a picture of this mess. I went through my pics and found one of Peaches in one of her more angelic, looking very pathetic moments. She clearly has a "ruff" life.

I took a rather long nap following the bath, ate a late lunch, and managed to fit in a short walk around the neighborhood. It felt good to be outside in the warm, sunshine. And no, I didn't take the dogs with me.

I'm looking forward to a couple more days of rest and hoping I have some time to enjoy the beautiful weather.
